The calendars (click here to view option one or here to view option two) have the same school start date—Tuesday, Sept. 2 for students in kindergarten through sixth grade, as well as those in seventh and ninth grades. The first day of school for all other students will be Wednesday, Sept. 3, according to both calendars.
However, the main difference between the two options is the timing of the scheduled spring break and the corresponding teacher inservice days.
Option one would give students Monday, March 30 through Friday, April 3 off; teacher inservice days are March 30 and 31.
Option two schedules spring break for Wednesday, April 1 to Tuesday, April 7; teacher inservice days are April 6 and 7.
Both calendars schedule winter break to begin Wednesday, Dec. 24. Classes are scheduled to resume Monday, Jan. 5, 2015 in both calendars.
The last day of school for students is scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2015 in both calendars. Five snow days are built into the calendar and if not used, will be deducted at the end of the year, according to the document.Additional snow days, if needed, are added by using the April teacher inservice days.
