Whiz Kids of the Week

The Agents of Social Change at Newtown Friends School are committed to raising awareness and funds for families in Darfur.

Whiz Kids' name and ages: The Agents of Social Change (TASC), ages 11-14

School: Newtown Friends School

Accomplishment: TASC is a voluntary, middle school student-led group at Newtown Friends School. For the past three years, they have been working hard to raise awareness and money for families in Darfur.  Two years ago they raised over $5,000 and collected 1,000 pairs of Crocs shoes for refugees.  Last year they raised over $10,000. This year they’re at it again, getting ready for a dance-a-thon on February 17 and their third annual Darfurnament basketball tournament on April 1. To learn more, visit their web site.
