When did your business get started?
I have owned Sweet Pea going on five years. We thought how great to open a small locally-owned ice cream shop where we make all of our ice cream on site daily. We love creating new flavors and seeing customers faces when we tell them our ice cream is made here.

Why did you choose the town you did to open your business?
Because we live in Newtown we instantly had a connection with our community. It's a great feeling to see customers walk in the door and know them by first name. We really wanted our customers to get the same feeling coming into our store. So it's nice they can see the owner on a daily basis. I have three children in the Council Rock School District and I love seeing kids faces when they recognize me and get that old town feeling and point at me and say "look that's Mrs. Fanini." We hope to provide Newtown with homemade ice cream for many, many years!

What is your business best known for?
Homemade ice cream! Favorite flavors would be monkey love, chocolate raspberry truffle and Newtown tracks. Season favorites are pumpkin pie, egg nog, peppermint bark and gingerbread cookie.

What's something interesting about your business your customers might not know?
We now have an espresso bar and open at 9 a.m. Here are some fun facts about us: It takes about 35 minutes to make two tubs of ice cream and we sell more vanilla ice cream then any other flavor.
