Tri-Township Enjoys 22-3 Victory Sunday at Babe Ruth World Series

The local team beat Jamestown, N.Y. by a whopping margin this weekend. They face a team from Washington state today.

The Tri-Township U15 team is on a winning streak at the Babe Ruth World Series.

Tri-Township beat host team Jamestown, N.Y. by 19 runs Sunday. They face Centralia, Wash. today at 12:05 p.m.

Tri-Township erupted for 16 runs in the fourth inning — all with two outs — on their way to the 22-3 victory.

The win improved the Middle Atlantic Regional champs to 2-0 in pool play while Jamestown fell to 0-2, tournament organizers said.

Tri-Township sent 22 batters to the plate in the fourth inning and recorded nine hits, while taking advantage of four errors. Highlighting the marathon inning were Brady West's two-run single and two-run double. Zach Matthews and Jacob Connor both had two-run singles in the fourth.

Tri-Township opened the scoring with three runs in the second, highlighted by Bailey Hammer's RBI single and Devan Birch's run-scoring double.

West finished with three hits and five RBIs, while Hammer added two hits. Jacob Connor, Robert Knox, Brad Stoltzfus, Logan Sneed and Pat Reilly all had two RBIs for the winners.

Sneed was the winning pitcher.
