Celebrate Flag Day with Patriotic Desserts

Dieticians from ACME have shared some colorful red, white and blue dessert recipes.

Today is Flag Day and what better way to celebrate than with a tasty treat. Dieticians from ACME have shared some colorful red, white and blue dessert recipes. If you don’t have time to make them today for Flag Day, these recipes would also make a great addition to a Fourth of July picnic.

The patriotic recipes include:

Red, White and Berrylicious Parfaits – It’s a great visual to compile red, white and blue parfaits in clear glasses or martini glasses. Add sliced strawberries on the bottom, blueberries on top and either Greek yogurt or light whipped cream in the center. Top with mini American flags toothpicks, if desired.

Patriotic Strawberries: Try scooping out fresh strawberries with a melon baller and filling them vanilla Greek yogurt combined with a light whipped topping. Top the “crème” with a single blueberry to complete the red, white and blue look.

Flag Kabobs: Try making flag fruit kabobs by skewering cubed pineapple, whole blueberries and whole strawberries. They’re fun to eat and to carry around at a party.
