Day Trips: Indoor Golf, Boat Tour and Car Show

Find three local attractions you can visit on roughly one tank of gas.

Want to get out of town and go for a trip, but looking to save money?

Try one of these four trips you can enjoy on just one tank of gas: Narberth Tennis Club, Moonlight Memories Car Show in Hatboro and Lake Wallenpaupack Boat Tour in Hawley.

Narberth Tennis Club

Address: 614 Montgomery Ave., Narberth
Distance from Newtown Patch: About 30 miles
Admission: For the indoor golf simulator, the cost is $15 for a half hour. Tennis rates vary.
Hours: Sunday to Friday: 7 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Saturday: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Summary: Beyond offering plenty of courts and leagues for the sport contained in its name, Narberth Tennis Club has indoor golf simulators available for the golfer who can't face 4 plus hours on a hot day. Customers hit balls into a force-absorbent projection screen whose sensors extrapolate where a shot would land if hit on a real course. The club also offers golf instruction on the simulators.

20th Annual Moonlight Memories Car Show

Address: Both sides of York Road, Hatboro
Distance from Newtown Patch: About 9 miles
Admission: Free
Hours: 5 to 10 p.m., on Saturday, July 28
Summary: Downtown Hatboro will be the center of attention July 28 when more than 500 specialty cars and trucks roll into town for the 20th annual Moonlight Memories Car Show. The free event, which historically draws between 500 and 600 show-quality cars and trucks, will have cars lining both sides of York Road, from Byberry Avenue at the south end of the borough to Summit Avenue at the north.

Lake Wallenpaupack Boat Tour

Address: 2487 Route 6, Hawley
Distance from Newtown Patch: About 115 miles
Admission: Adults, $14; Seniors (60 and older), $13; Children (12 and younger), $12
Hours: Peak Season runs through Labor Day with tours every hour from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Check website for off-season scheduleSummary: Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos is 13 miles long and has 52 miles of scenic shoreline. Visitors can take a one-hour boat tour on the lake from Route 6 near the town of Hawley. The lake has six recreation areas featuring hundreds of acres of forest lands, wildlife, walking trails, campsites and boat slips.
