June 2 Summerfest to Feature Corvette Show

The event, hosted by the Sycamore Street Community Association, will feature a car show, live music, food, vendors and more.

 

Newtown is gearing up for the third annual Summerfest, to be held June 2 on Sycamore Street. This year’s event features some new attractions, including a Corvette show.

The event, hosted by the Sycamore Street Community Association, will kick-off at noon with the 52nd at the Historic Newtown Presbyterian Church.

Then, at 1 p.m. the Liberty Region Corvette Club will kick off its 16th annual show. 

The Summerfest block party will start at 3 p.m. in front of . The block party, which will feature live music, food, beverage and craft vendors, will go until 9 p.m.

Jeff London, Crossroads, The Brodie Valos Band and Scoville Blues will perform live music during the block party.  Children will find plenty to do, too. According to organizers, there will be a balloon artist and face painting for kids.

The event is sponsored by Pennoni Associates Engineers & Consultants, the professional engineering company that designed and constructed the revitalized Sycamore Street. Other sponsors include the , and US Realty Associates.
