Newtown Honors Veterans on Memorial Day

A parade and memorial service at Borough Hall honored veterans on Memorial Day.

Residents lined the streets Monday to enjoy Newtown's annual Memorial Day parade. The parade featured veterans, boy scouts, the Council Rock North marching band, fire trucks and more.

The parade began at the Commons West Building on Newtown-Yardley Road and turned into the Newtown Cemetery for a graveside memorial service to Morell Smith. From there, the parade made its way into the borough, where it stopped at the library for a memorial service at the Word War I monument.
