My New Blog on Summer Pests and How to Beat Them

Summer is set to begin within the week, so I figured it a great time to begin my blog. I'm excited to keep my readers informed and entertained about all issues surrounding the bugs plaguing our summertime activities and the very serious health risks associated with those bugs.

Yesterday was a beautiful (almost) summer day. I decided to take my two young daughters, ages 7 and 5, out for a walk, rather than listen to whines of "Mommy!" or "She' being mean!" while in the confines of our home in Drexel Hill. The walk was peaceful and the girls managed to run out a miniscule percentage of the energy that seems to keep them constantly going.

We walked through grass and brushed aside shrubs as the sunshine made each step feel closer to summertime fun. Little did we know that we were under a very serious, yet very quiet attack. Upon getting home, my youngest daughter, Miranda, pointed out quite hysterically that two ticks had found lunch on her ankle.

Peroxide, tweezers, a match and many screams and wails of terror later, the ticks had been picked and burnt and tears subsided.

You do not need to experience the same fate met by a five year old. Mosquito Platoon out of Chester, PA has a full arsenal to take care of almost any summertime pest. Lyme Disease is a very serious risk this summer, give the Platoon a call and let's not put our little ones at risk.
