Christopher J. Tobia of the Rose Group a Finalist of Philadelphia Business Journal's 2014 CFO of the Year Award
NEWTOWN, PA — July 11, 2014 — The Rose Group, a leading franchisee of Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill & Bar and Corner Baker Cafe restaurants, announced today that Christopher J. Tobia, vice president and chief financial officer, was one of the finalists for the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2014 CFO of the Year Award. The annual awards luncheon was held at the Crystal Tea Room in Philadelphia on Thursday, July 10.
This competitive award, sponsored by the Philadelphia Business Journal in conjunction with Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business and co-sponsors, honors the region’s top financial professionals who have displayed superior performance in their roles as corporate financial officers.
“I am honored to have been one of the finalists for this award since it truly recognizes the accomplishments our company has achieved in this past year,” said Tobia. “We are very proud of our business initiatives and I consider it a privilege to have been nominated for this award on behalf of our organization.”
Tobia oversees all aspects of The Rose Group’s accounting, finance, and office administration responsibilities and helps continue to build the company’s financial systems as the company expands. He is a graduate of The Catholic University of America and is a certified public accountant.
In addition, Tobia is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He also serves as a volunteer member of the Board of Directors of Hopewell Basketball Association and the Hopewell Valley Baseball and Softball Association and in his spare time, he coaches youth baseball and basketball in the Hopewell community.
