Itkoff, a senior at Dickinson College, became involved with the organization through Bass. Itkoff and Bass are college classmates.

Itkoff said getting involved with Inspirational Medicine seemed like a good fit from the start.  “I’m interested in nonprofit work,” he said, adding the “grassroots” aspect of getting involved with the organization early and helping it grow from the ground up was inspirational to him.

Currently, Itkoff and the board of directors are working to get various teams and role models on board with their mission. The goal is to use Internet technology to help facilitate the interactions.

“It makes it accessible if you can use the Internet and iPads,” Itkoff said. “A meet and greet might not be realistic,” he said, adding that a virtual interaction can still be an inspirational experience.
