Pancreatic Cancer is one of the deadliest cancers with just a five percent, five-year survival rate. Fund a Cure organizers said the disease claims twice as many lives as HIV/AIDS each year in the United States.  Organizers said the disease is underfunded by the federal government, with just $73 million appropriated each year for research and the development of screening techniques.

Registration is $30 in advance and $35 on race day.  The first 200 registrants will receive a Run Over Cancer 5K race t-shirt.  Prizes will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers.  This year, three special prizes will be given to the top three participants who raise the most money through the online sponsorship program, which is explained on the website.  The top prize is two free tickets to Sesame Place in Langhorne.

Congressman Mike Fitzpatrick (PA-8) is slated to be the honorary race starter this year.

Fund A Cure for Pancreatic Cancer has already raised more than $17,000 for the race in an attempt to collect $30,000 this year to go towards cutting edge disease research and raise awareness of pancreatic cancer, organizers said.
