Shir Ami to Host 2nd Annual 5K to Fight Hunger

The 5K run and one-mile walk will be held Sunday, June 10 at Tyler State Park.

Shir Ami's second annual "I Run for Food" 5K will be held Sunday, June 10 at

The event began last year after Langhorne resident and member Elisa Stein saw a man on the street looking for food just blocks from her home. While Stein brought him tomatoes, cucumbers and other fresh foods, she knew there had to be others like him throughout the area.

Seeing this epidemic right in her own backyard prompted Stein to partner with her friend and Newtown resident, Stacie Mishler. The two sought support from Shir Ami to do something to help the area’s hungry residents.
