Veterans Park Fields to Open, Market Day is Saturday

A look at the week ahead in Newtown.

Here's a look at what's happening in Newtown this week:

MONDAY
The Council Rock School Board will hold a special public meeting to discuss a Capacity Study that was recently done as part of the district’s capital planning process. Schrader Group Architects will be providing the findings of the study during a meeting Monday at 7 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.

TUESDAY
The Newtown Learning Cooperative will be holding its first public information session at the Lubavitch Center at 25 State St. on Tuesday. Click here for more details. 

The Newtown Township Planning Commission meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been cancelled.

WEDNESDAY
Council Rock students in grades K-8 have a half day Wednesday.

The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance and Newtown Township Parks & Rec are presenting “Composting: Do Something Hot with Fall Leaves” on Wednesday. Click here for details.

THURSDAY
The Council Rock School Board meets Thursday at 7:30 p.m. 

SATURDAY
Market Day, the Newtown Historic Association’s colonial craft and art fair, will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Half Moon Inn at Court Street and Centre Avenue.

Veterans Park fields will open Saturday. An opening day celebration will be held to mark the occasion. Click here for details.
