Weight Loss Contest Begins, Cookbook Club to Meet: Week Ahead

A look at the week ahead in Newtown.

Here's what's going on this week in Newtown:

MONDAY, Jan. 13
The Newtown Township Board of Supervisors will hold a work session meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the township municipal building. 

TUESDAY, Jan 14
The Literate Epicures, Newtown Bookshop's cookbook club, will meet at 7 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public. The book to be discussed is "The Simple Art of EatingWell Cookbook: 400 Easy Recipes, Tips and Techniques for Delicious, Healthy Meals" by Jessie Price or "Keepers: Two Home Cooks Share Their Tried-And-True Weeknight Recipes and the Secrets to Happiness in the Kitchen" by Kathy Brennan and Caroline Campion. WEDNESDAY, Jan. 15
Toddler story time will be held at the Wrighstown Village Library at 10 a.m. The event is for children ages 10 months to three years. A preschool story time will be held at 10:30 a.m. for ages three to five. No registration required. 

THURSDAY, Jan. 16
Refresh Wellness at the Newtown Athletic Club is kicking off its annual weight loss competition. More than $2,000 in cash and prizes will be awarded to the contestants who loose the highest percentage of body weight. Click here for details. 

The Council Rock School Board will meet at 7:30 p.m. at the Chancellor Center.
