Peddlers Village Light Show, Community Potluck Among Weekend Events

Plus, the Central Bucks Family YMCA is hosting a turkey trot on Saturday.

Here's a look at what's going on in and around Newtown this weekend:

RUN THE LIGHTS
What: Run the two miles of the Shady Brook Farm Holiday Light Show before anyone can drive it during the Run the Lights 2 Mile Fun Run.
When/where: 7 p.m. Friday at Shady Brook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Road, Yardley. 
Cost: $20

PEDDLERS VILLAGE LIGHT SHOW
What: The Buckingham Township shopping village will flip the switch on its majestic holiday light display, plus Santa will be there to greet the children.
When/where: Friday at 6:15 p.m. at Peddler's Village, Routes 202 and 263 Lahaska.
Cost: Free

PHILLY BASKET BRIGADE
What: Volunteers are needed to assemble Thanksgiving baskets for families in need.
When/where: Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Newtown Athletic Club's sports training center, 120 Pheasant Run, Newtown.

COMMUNITY POTLUCK DINNER
What: 350 Bucks County, a local working group of the environmental activist organization, 350.org, will host a Community Potluck Dinner followed by a screening of the movie, Nourish.
When/where: Saturday at 6 p.m. at the Newtown Friends Meetinghouse, 219 Court St., Newtown.
Cost: Free

FAMILY TURKEY TROT
What: Work up your Thanksgiving appetite. Central Bucks Family YMCA is hosting a turkey trot featuring a one-mile fun run.
When/where: Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Central Bucks Family YMCA, 2500 Lower State Rd, Doylestown.
Cost: $5

UNDER THE TREE
What: The Mercer Museum's annual holiday exhibit features trees decorated to the tastes of earlier eras together with some of the toys and games that once delighted children on Christmas morning.
When/where: Starts Saturday at Mercer Museum, 84 S. Pine St., Doylestown. The exhibit goes through Jan. 5.
Cost: Included with museum admission.

GIVE BACK FEST
What: A mix of music and performers, including local rock groups, a 13-year-old singer songwriter and a college jazz fusion band, will perform to raise money and food for local food pantries.
When/where: Sunday at 6 p.m. at Puck, 1 Printers Alley, Doylestown.
Cost: $8 and a can of food.
