Five Former Eagles Coming to Bucks Saturday for St. Mary Event

The former professional athletes are attending St. Mary Hospital's Jog for Joints event to raise awareness for the importance of bone and joint health.

Five former Eagles will be in Bucks County Saturday to raise awareness for bone and joint health.

The former professional athletes are attending St. Mary Hospital’s Jog for Joints event to raise awareness for the importance of bone and joint health.

Hollis Thomas, former Eagles defensive tackle; Kyle Eckel, former Eagles fullback; and Barrett Brooks, former Eagles offensive tackle, are scheduled to attend the event and be available for photographs and autographs.

Super Bowl Champion punter Sean Landeta and former Eagles stand-out linebacker Garry Cobb will also be there. They'll be serving as honorary team captains; event participants will be assigned teams and compete in categories such as best team spirit and highest number of medals earned.

The event will also serve as an orthopedic patient reunion and a way to honor joint-replacement patients.  There will also be speakers, awards, brunch, entertainment and door prizes.

According to St. Mary, more than 500 people have already registered for the event.

The master of ceremonies will be Chris Ermer of WBCB 1490 AM. Featured speakers include Dr. John Avallone, orthopedic surgeon at St. Mary, as well as a patient who recently received joint replacement.

The speakers and awards are expected to take place around 9:45 a.m. Autographs and photographs with the former Eagles will start at 10:15 a.m.
