Newtown's First Fourth is Saturday

The event will feature a "fun land" of inflatables, food, music, fireworks and more.

Newtown’s annual Independence Day festivities, called First Fourth, will be held Saturday at Newtown Middle School. The event will feature entertainment, kids activities, food, music and fireworks.

This year, the festivities include a "fun land" of inflatables sponsored by Party Magic.

The event begins at 3 p.m. with the annual borough versus township softball game. Plus, there will be a demonstration of model flying airplanes, music and inflatables for children.

The food court and vendors will open at 5 p.m. That's when shuttle buses will start running from Council Rock High School North to Newtown Middle School.

The fireworks are again sponsored by Piccolo Trattoria, which donated $3,500 for the show.
