I did see The Avengers there and I would have to agree with the reviewer but I have also seen two other movies since and the sound and picture quality has improved ten fold. I saw the Dark Knight IMAX at AMC and the sound quality was actually better at the Newtown Theatre.

I love nostalgia however in fairness to it's customers they shouldn't attempt to screen a high-tech, CGI heavy film like The Avengers. The buzzing audio (no surround!) snaps, crackles and pops like a bowl of Rice Krispies. The screen is as dim as a Sears & Roebuck console TV circa 1965. Very disappointing.
