AAA projects 93.3 million Americans will travel 50 miles or more from home during the year-end holidays, an increase of 1.6 percent over the 91.8 million people who traveled last year. This increase brings holiday travel figures to within half a million of the decade high mark seen during the 2006/2007 season. The year-end holiday travel period is defined as Saturday, Dec. 22. to Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013. AAA estimates the national average price of gasoline will slowly drop through the end of the year and average between $3.20-3.40 a gallon by New Year’s Day. Gas prices dropped about 50 cents a gallon on average from September through early December, but remain at record highs for this time of year. AAA does not expect gas prices to have a …

Find the cheapest gas in Newtown.
Gas prices dropped, on average, 1.5 cents in Pennsylvania and 1.1 cents in Bucks and Montgomery Counties from a week ago, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. AAA predicts that the national average price will be $3.25 to $3.40 by Thanksgiving and $3.10 …

After Labor Day, AAA predicted that gas prices across the country would drop leading up to Election Day, and will move even lower approaching the end of the year. And that’s exactly what’s happening. For the second week, gas prices dipped -- this week, by an average of 13 cents a gallon, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. In the Bucks and Montgomery Counties, the average price of a gallon is $3.807 per gallon, which is 8.1 cents lower than a week ago, 11.8 cents lower than a month ago and 29.3 cents higher than a year ago. High gas prices continue to not just be a front-of-mind issue for motorists, but also a frequent topic in Washington. AAA has consistently noted, because it is a publically traded global commodity, there is no sliver-…

According to AAA, one in 10 residents of the five county area will hit the road this weekend.
AAA-Mid Atlantic estimates that 400,000 residents of the five county area will be traveling this Memorial Day Weekend, despite gas prices peaking near $4 a gallon. The agency defines traveling as journeys of 50 miles of greater. The five county area includes Bucks, Montgomery, Chester, Delaware and Philadelphia counties. Of that figure, 88 percent plan to drive to their destination, roughly the same number as last year, according to AAA. “Despite near-record-high gas prices this spring, Philadelphia area residents are ready to travel to welcome the summer season this Memorial Day holiday weekend,” said Jenny M. Robinson, manager of public and government affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic. “While the economy continues to improve slightly, …
