An attempted bank robbery occured this morning in Newtown Township. According to Newtown Township police, a man attempted to rob the TD Bank on West Road at 8:30 a.m. He was arrested without incident, police said. The FBI is seeking the public's help in finding a serial bank robber who they believe has robbed four area banks since June, including one in Wrightstown.
The man who robbed a Wrightstown bank in September is believed to be involved in at least three other similar robberies, according to information provided today by the FBI. Officials are asking the public’s help in finding the serial bank robber, who they say is armed and dangerous. In late September, a masked man stole approximately $7,000 from First Federal Bank in Wrightstown just before it closed one Friday evening. Officials say that same man is believed to be responsible for four robberies, the most recent of which occurred last month in Ambler at the PNC Bank on South Bethlehem Pike. At approximately 9:17 a.m. this morning, a man robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on Stony Hill Road. He is considered armed and dangerous, police said.
A Wells Fargo Bank in Yardley was robbed this morning. The Lower Makefield Township Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate the man responsible for the armed robbery. The crime occcured shortly after 9 a.m at the Wells Fargo Bank at 706 Stony Hill Rd, Yardley, police said. According to police, the subject entered the bank at 9:17 a.m. and threatened the teller with a gun. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank in an unknown direction. Newtown Township Police continue to investigate a bank robbery that occurred in Wrightstown last fall. A masked man stole approximately $7,000 from First Federal Bank in Wrightstown just before it closed one Friday evening in late September. Officials from the police department said detectives continue to investigate the case and are working with the FBI to find the suspect. According to police, the disguised suspect ordered employees into a back room and fled with the money. The suspect is described by police to be a white male, approximately 6 feet tall with a stocky build. He was wearing a hood, safety glasses, gloves and a dark business suit with a tie. Police are seeking an “armed and dangerous” man who robbed a Wrightstown bank shortly before 7 p.m. Friday night. A surveillance camera inside the First Federal Bank, where the crime occurred, shows the suspect of the robbery as a hooded man wearing safety glasses, gloves and a dark business suit with a tie. He was carrying a duffle bag. According to police, the suspect is a white male, approximately 6 feet tall with a stocky build. A bank robbery occurred at First Federal Bank in Wrightstown this evening around 7 p.m. No one was injured, according to police. According to information from the Breaking News Network, a person wearing a navy blue jacket and armed with a gun fled with an unknown amount of money. Newtown Township Police Department responded to the scene. Additional K9 units were called to the crime scene, the Breaking News Network said. According to its website, First Federal's Wrightstown branch is open until 7 p.m. Fridays. Police did not provide additional information at the scene.
