SHARE: Photos from the 2013 Presidential Inauguration

Are you attending the inauguration on Jan. 21? Upload your photos or videos and share the experience with your neighbors.

Millions of people will head towards the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 21 to witness President Barack Obama take the oath of office for his second term. On Jan. 20, 2009, Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States. The theme for his first inauguration was “A New Birth of Freedom.” The ceremony honored the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln’s birth.  This year, the theme is “Faith in America's Future,” honoring the installation of the Statue of Freedom on the Capitol Dome 150 years ago in 1863. This year's inauguration will also commemorate Martin Luther King Jr., as Jan. 21 is also Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The president will honor King by taking the oath of office for his second term with his hand placed on …

Good Idea/Bad Idea? Presidential Tears

Are you surprised at my tears, sir? Strong men also cry.

A video of President Barack Obama thanking his campaign staff went viral on Friday. The reason? It featured the reelected president welling up as he reminisced about his humble beginnings in Chicago. After a long, hard-fought campaign — undoubtedly the president's last — it's hard to begrudge the man a few wistful tears. But not everybody thinks Obama is genuine, even in this YouTube video of an unguarded moment in front of close-knit young staffers. We've had a lot of viral moments in this campaign, and as it closes, this one might be the most surprising.  So we put it to you: what do you think of the president's tears?

Barack Obama Re-Elected President

President Obama defeats Republican Mitt Romney in the 2012 presidential election.

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden were re-elected Tuesday night, defeating Republican challenger Mitt Romney and his vice presidential running mate, U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan. NBC News called the presidential election for Obama around 11:15 EST. The president sent a message on Twitter at 10:14 saying simply, "This happened because of you. Thank you." The Obama campaign won the most expensive presidential race ever, with both parties raising about $2.6 billion. The race was filled with negative campaigning on both sides, from Obama attacking Romney’s business experience with Bain Capital to Romney lambasting Obama’s handling of the economy. The race tightened during the final months of the campaign, with gaffes and surges from …

When Will Presidential Election 2012 Results Be Announced?

Pennsylvania polls close at 8 p.m., but they are open in California until 11 p.m. EST.

So you've cast your ballot, maybe even waited in line if you did so in person as turnout appears to be up around Bucks and Montgomery Counties. But how long will you have to wait to find out who'll be in the White House come January? It might be a late night. California voters have until 8 p.m. Pacific Standard Time to cast their Election 2012 ballots, but voting in other key swing states ends as much as an hour earlier, and exit polling could provide an early clue whether President Obama or Mitt Romney us closer to the White House. The earliest key state to watch is Virginia, where polls close at 7 p.m. Eastern. Voting ends 30 minutes later in the swing states of Ohio and North Carolina. As Michigan's polls close, the swing states of …

Pennsylvania Election Results 2012

The Keystone State helped Barack Obama win re-election in what was a good night for Democrats across Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania helped President Barack Obama win re-election as U.S. Sen. Bob Casey fended off a feisty challenge from Republican coal magnate Tom Smith in what turned out to be a big night for Democrats in the Keystone State. Democrats held the lead in three state row office races as of 2:30 a.m. Wednesday with close to 98 percent of the vote in, according to unofficial results. Kathleen Kane, a former assistant district attorney from Lackawanna County, made history by becoming the first Democrat and first woman to be elected as the state's attorney general. The Republican candidate, David Freed, is a two-term district attorney in Cumberland County. Democrat Eugene DePasquale of York leads Republican John Maher of Allegheny in the auditor …

Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden Campaigns for Obama and Women

Several high-ranking politicos, including Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden, Mitt Romney and Bill Clinton are spending the last few days before the election in Montgomery County in a last big push to mobilize voters.

With only a few days left until the election, candidates and their proxies are making the rounds in some of the battleground states this weekend, including Pennsylvania. Second Lady Dr. Jill Biden, wife of Vice President Joe Biden, made a few campaign stops in Montgomery County this weekend – in Media on Friday and then in Norristown, West Chester, Germantown and the Northeast on Saturday. On her Saturday stops, she was accompanied by Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter. In Norristown on Saturday, the pair spoke to a full house at the Obama For America campaign headquarters at 1729 Markley Street. Dr. Biden thanked the crowd for their continued support and noted that Montgomery County, where she said grew up, would be key to an Obama-Biden…

Beware: Robo-call Says Election is Wednesday

Across the country people receive a false robo-call saying the date of the presidential election was changed due to Hurricane Sandy.

Mark Schultz was "a little dumbstruck," but not surprised when he received a robo-call at his house in Holliston, Massachusetts Saturday around noon. The call said "Hi, I'm one of your neighbors in Holliston and ... I want to urge you to vote for Elizabeth Warren and Barack Obama on Wednesday, November 7." The date, said the call, had been changed because of Hurricane Sandy. Thankfully the Democratic Town Committee member knew this information was incorrect, but he posted to Facebook to make sure others knew the same. The caller ID listed it as Massachusetts 000-0000.  The registered Democrat said he has heard of this happening around the country, but not in this area. "It's a new low in campaigning," he said, adding, "I don't know who it …

Clinton to Visit Pa on Monday

President Bill Clinton will rally Obama-Biden supporters and volunteers at events in Philadelphia, Blue Bell, Pittsburgh and Scranton on the day before the election.

President Bill Clinton will rally Democratic supporters in the key swing state of Pennsylvania on Monday, the day before Election Day. Clinton will speak to supporters and volunteers at events in Philadelphia, Blue Bell, Pittsburgh and Scranton, the Obama for America campaign announced late Saturday night. The former president is on a campaign swing through what Democrats characterized as "states with strong Democratic bases and battleground states." During this final week, Clinton has held events in Iowa, Florida, Colorado, Ohio, Virginia, Minnesota, New Hampshire and Wisconsin, the campaign said. Monday's events will be free and open to the public, but tickets will be required for entry. The event is free and open to the public, but a …
