Two Men Charged in Jewelry Store Burglaries

Two men who authorities believe are involved in several jewelry store burglaries in Montgomery and Bucks counties, including three in Newtown Township, have been charged.

Two men who have been charged in connection with last week's burglary at a jewelry store in Horsham are believed to have also robbed a Newtown Township jewelry store, according to authorities. Horsham Police Department on Monday arrested Ryan Wiley, 23, of Doylestown and Phillip A. Prokop, 38, of North Wales. The men were charged with burglary, theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy stemming from the Oct. 17 burglary at Jems, Jewels and Gold in Horsham Township. Authorities believe Wiley and Prokop are also connected to the three robberies at Mayfair Jewelers that occured since September.  Horsham Police said Wiley and Prokop were identified as suspects after they attempted to sell "large quantities of jewelry" to a local…

Police Investigating Two Suspected Burglaries

Authorities are investigating two suspected burglaries that occurred in the area last week.

  Police are investigating two suspected residential burglaries that were reported in Wrightstown last week.   Last Tuesday evening at 5 p.m., a resident of the Wrenwood Way neighborhood in Wrightstown called to report of a burglary at her home. Police reported the victim told responding officers that she was away from the house for about four hours and returned home to find a window open and several items missing from the house. The resident claims the window was closed when she left the home. About 48 hours later, a Durham Road resident called police to report his laptop computer and several other items were gone from his home, police said. The resident said he was away from his home in the 800 block of Durham Road for most of Thursday …
