Lady Indians Stay Undefeated With Win Over Council Rock South

Gold sisters instrumental as Indians triumph over rival Council Rock South Hawks

While most were unhappy with yet another winter storm that dumped snow on the region and closed schools, the extra day certainly didn't hurt the Lady Indians as they beat Council Rock South on the road 40-35 Wednesday night.   “I think the snow actually helped us,” coach Lou Palkovics said after the win. “It gave us a chance to get healthy as Lauren's [Gold] ankle was healing." The game, which was originally scheduled for Tuesday, was postponed due to inclement weather. The extra day allowed starting guard Lauren Gold to rest her ankle for another day. It was questionable whether she would have been set to go on Tuesday. Lauren, and her sister, senior Devin Gold, are two of the Lady Indian's key players. If either Devin or Lauren are not …

Lady Indians Off to a Great Start

The Council Rock North girls varsity basketball team is undefeated so far this season

After a 24-6 record that left them undefeated in division play last season, the Council Rock North Lady Indians basketball team and coach Lou Palkovics didn't think they could improve much more this year. But they have. "In all honesty, I would say my girls are ahead of where I thought they were going to be at this point, which is a pleasant surprise but it's attributed to how hard they have worked in the off-season," said Palkovics, who is in his 14th season as head coach of the Indians. The Council Rock North girls are currently 6-0, after a 63-10 dismantling of Harry S. Truman on Tuesday night. They are ranked first in the state according to maxpreps.com, just ahead of Archbishop Wood. It seems that with each passing game, another team…

North Girls Continue to Roll with Win Over Truman (Video)

The Lady Indians jumped out to a big lead at home and never looked back for their biggest win of the season.

The Council Rock North Lady Indians picked up right where they left off after their tournament win at the Boardwalk Classic in Wildwood last week, as they shellacked the Harry S. Truman Tigers 63-10 Tuesday at Newtown. The Indians continued to avoid roadblocks this season, as their 6-0 record indicates. It didn't take long for the Indians to get going, as they quickly got off to a 10-point lead. Before they knew it, they were up 27-0 heading into the second quarter. The Indian's offense came out on fire and though their defense played well, the Tigers repeatedly shot themselves in the foot with poor passes and 13 turnovers in the first quarter alone. The Indians went on a 31-0 run to start the game before Truman's Kaijah Willis ended the …

Video Coverage: Council Rock's Hawaiian Swim Invitational

The all-day swim meet Sunday at Council Rock North had a great turnout as locals looked for an escape from the cold weather.

With the New Year comes the coldest month on the calendar. But it didn't feel cold in Newtown Sunday as Council Rock North hosted the the second annual Hawaiian Holiday Swim Invitational. Though the invitational is only in its second year, there was an excellent turnout at the all-day sporting event. The invitational was presented by Council Rock Swimming and Diving Club. The gymnasium and pool were decorated to give the school an island-like feeling. Fake grass and other party favors help make the day festive but it was all business in the pool, as the participants lined the perimeter to cheer on their teammates. The 8 year-old boys and girls started racing first, at 7:30 a.m. Two hours later, the 9 and 10 year-old bracket took to the …
