McKessy, Block Victorious in School Board Primary

Incumbent Kyle McKessy won in Region 9 and Andy Block was victorious in Region 8 in the race for Council Rock School Board.

Incumbent Kyle McKessy was reelected to represent Region 9 on the Council Rock School Board during a primary race Tuesday. McKessy and her opponent, Le Sheppard, both cross filed, allowing Democrats and Republicans alike to cast votes for them. McKessy received 72 percent of the Republican vote and 75 percent of the Democratic vote. She received 424 votes to Sheppard's 158. McKessy, a Wrightstown resident, has three children in the district. She has served on the board since 2008; in 2011 and 2012 she was board president. This year, she was elected as vice president. In Upper Makefield, resident Andy Block was victorious in a three-way race for Region 8. Block bested Diana Nolan and Theo Caputi. Block received 733 votes; Nolan received 554…

Wrightstown Residents to Vie for School Board Seat

Le Sheppard will challenge incumbent Kyle McKessy for the seat representing Region 9 on the Council Rock School Board.

Wrightstown residents Kyle McKessy and Le Sheppard will face off in the primary this month to represent region 9 on the Council Rock School Board. Region 9 includes all of Wrightstown and Newtown Township districts 1 and 2. The primary will be held May 21. Both candidates have cross filed. McKessy, the incumbent who has been endorsed by both the local Republicans and Democrats, has served on the board since 2008. She moved to Newtown in 1993 and became a Wrightstown resident in 1998. She is married with three children in the district. McKessy received a Bachelor’s degree from Elizabethtown College and a Masters degree from Temple University. Upper Makefield Residents to Vie for School Board Seat

Diana Nolan announced this week she is running to represent Region 8 on the Council Rock School Board. She will face Andy Block and Theodore Caputi in the May primary.

Upper Makefield resident Diana Nolan will join Andy Block and Theodore Caputi on the primary ballot for Council Rock School Board. Nolan, Caputi and Block are seeking to represent Region 8. The seat is currently held by Paul Anagnostakos, who is stepping down after 10 years on the board. Nolan said her main focus will be lowering spending and keeping taxes affordable. "My primary concern in running for school board is the continual increase in spending and taxes over the past several years that threatens to price many of our residence out of their homes," she said. Upper Makefield resident Andy Block this week announced his candidacy for Council Rock School Board's Region 8. Region 8, which includes all Upper Makefield voting districts, is currently represented by Paul Anagnostakos, who is stepping down after 10 years on the board. Wrightstown Resident Announces School Board Candidacy

Wrightstown resident Le Sheppard is running to represent Region 9 on the Council Rock School Board.

Wrightstown resident Le Sheppard this week announced he is running to represent region 9 on the Council Rock School Board. That seat is currently held by Kyle McKessy, who is running for reelection. Region 9 includes all of Wrightstown and Newtown Township districts 1 and 2. Sheppard, a business owner and digital artist, describes himself as an "open government" activist. He has lived in Wrightstown for 15 years with wife Mary Jane and daughter Maggie, a Council Rock High School North student. Churchville resident Ed Mayer is seeking to represent Council Rock School Board's Region No. 6.

Northampton Township resident Ed Mayer has announced he will run for Council Rock School Board Director. He is running to represent the district’s Region No. 6, which includes Northampton Township voting districts Nos. 4, 8, 13 and 18.  That seat is currently held by Robert Donnelly. Denise Brooks, a research director and longtime volunteer in the Council Rock School District, is running to represent Region 3 on the Council Rock School Board.

Denise Brooks, a research director and longtime community volunteer, has announced her candidacy for Council Rock School Board’s Region 3. The seat is currently held by Bernadette Heenan. Region 3 includes Northampton voting districts 1, 11 and 15. Goodnoe Renovation Project Out to Bid, District Officials Say

A $13.1 million renovation project at Goodnoe Elementary School is currently out to bid, Council Rock School District officials said Thursday. District Supervisor of Operational Services Doug Taylor told the Board of Education Thursday that the project has been out to bid a little less than a week and so far there are six bidders from each trade.  The Board on Thursday approved PlanCon Part F, which are construction documents required by the state, for the Goodnoe Elementary addition and renovation project.
