After a long and torturous labor dispute between the NHL Players Association and league owners that included a 113-day lockout that had Flyers fans hungering for some puck action. Their appetites will finally be sated today when the Philadelphia Flyers kick off the shortened season with a home game against the rival Pittsburgh Penguins.
