Gas Prices Start a Seasonal Climb

Find the cheapest gas in Newtown.

The national average for self-serve gas has increased for ten straight days to the highest price in more than a month, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this for a gallon is $3.588, up 4.9 cents from last week, but still about 14 cents lower than a year ago. But according to the report, the year over year difference will likely continue to fade due to higher crude oil prices and refinery maintenance that decreases supply. In Bucks and Montgomery Counties, gas prices went up 5 cents since last week, making the average price $3.530, that’s .3 cents less than a month ago and 25.9 lower than last year’s prices. The Pennsylvania average retail price for a gallon of self-serve actually went down1.4 cents from last week…

Gas Prices Level Out

Find the cheapest gas in Newtown.

After months of a steady decline, gas prices saw it’s first uptick last week, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this for a gallon of gas rose 1.7 cents from last week. In Bucks and Montgomery Counties, it went up less than 1 cent, .9, to be exact, making the average price $3.472, that’s 11.4 cents lower than a month ago and 38.3 less than last year’s prices. Since national gas prices peaked at the end of February, motorists nationwide have felt welcome relief at the pump in the form of falling prices, the report states; however, the recent broader increase in retail gas prices has been supported by higher global crude oil prices. Gas Prices Dip Slightly Over the Week

Find the cheapest gas in Newtown.

With a steady decline in gas prices throughout April, the average price per gallon is nearly 45 cents lower than a year ago, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this week is $3.508 for a gallon, down .7 cents from last week. In Bucks and Montgomery Counties, gas prices dropped another 1.7 cents a gallon to an average of $3.463, that’s 44.4 cents lower than last year’s prices. The Pennsylvania average retail price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline is also $3.463, down 2.7 cents from a week ago. Nearby, the cheapest price for regular is $3.59 at both the BP and Shell in Wrightstown. It's $3.42 at Hess in Richboro. Gas Prices Nearly 50 Cents Lower Than Last Year

Low demand and lower prices for crude oil continue to drive gas prices downward, according to AAA’s fuel report. In Pennsylvania, the average for a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.490 per gallon down 6.2 cents from a week ago.  In Bucks and Montgomery, the average price for a gallon is $3.480; that’s 47.2 cents per gallon lower than a year ago, which is 4.75 cents from a week ago, 18.3 cents lower than a month ago. Locally, the cheapest price is $3.59 at the Shell Station in Wrightstown. April Gas Prices Have Been Good to Drivers

Gas prices in every state—except Idaho—have seen another decrease since last week, according to AAA’s fuel report. In Pennsylvania, the average for a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.552 per gallon down 5.4 cents from a week ago. U.S. gasoline prices in April have continued to fall, the reports states, not just because of weak demand, but oil prices have also moved sharply lower. In Bucks and Montgomery, the average price for a gallon is $3.525 per gallon, which is down 4.7 cents from a week ago, 16 cents lower than a month ago and 45.4 cents lower than a year ago. Gas 30 Cents Cheaper Than Last Spring, AAA Reports

The national average price of gasoline decreased during March for the first time in 10 years, and gas prices now average more than 30 cents per gallon less than a year ago, according to a report from AAA. This spring, the national average should remain less expensive than last year’s prices. Last year, gasoline prices peaked in April, so this year’s decrease throughout March is unusual. “It is very unusual for gas prices to decline in early spring like we have seen this year,” said Jana L. Tidwell, Public Affairs Specialist for AAA Mid-Atlantic. “An increase in refinery production and lower oil prices in early March have combined to provide rare falling prices for motorists in comparison to recent years.”    AAA predicts gasoline prices …

Gas Prices Continue to Decline

While gas prices declined in March, oil prices crept higher; both are indicators of an economic recovery, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this week is $3.637 for a gallon, down 2.1 cents from last week. In Bucks and Montgomery Counties, gas prices dropped another 2.6 cents a gallon to an average of $3.625, that’s 27.4 cents lower than last year’s prices. The Pennsylvania average retail price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline is $3.653, down 2.1 cents from a week ago. Nearby, the cheapest price for regular is $3.79 at the BP in Wrightstown. AAA: Spring Gas Prices Lowest in 3 Years

March has seen a steady decline in gas prices to the point that gas is cheaper now than last year. AAA continues to predict that the national average will crest lower than recent years and we head deeper into spring, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. In 2011 the national average for regular unleaded peaked at $3.98 on May 5. In 2012 the price peaked at $3.94 on April 5. The national average this week is $3.658 for a gallon, down 3.4 cents from last week. In Bucks and Montgomery Counties, gas prices dropped another 2.6 cents a gallon to an average of $3.651, that’s 19.7 cents lower than last year’s prices. Gas Cheaper Now Than Last Year

Pennsylvanians are paying an average of 11.5 cents less today for a gallon of gas than we paid at this time last year, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average for a gallon in the state is now $3.698, down 2.5 cents from a week ago. In Bucks and Montgomery Counties, gas prices dropped 3.2 cents a gallon to an average of $3.677, that’s 9.5 cents lower than a month ago and 11.4 cents lower than last year’s prices. Cheapest gas prices in Newtown?? Newtown has always been 20 to 30 cents higher then any town around us. My kids and I go to Richboro or Langhorne to get gas. There is no way we will pay 20 cents more a gallon. It's so infuriating to me.   more ›

Gas Prices Take a Dip

Find the cheapest gas in Newtown.

Drivers in every state are paying more at the pump than a month ago; however, Pennsylvania drivers are beginning to get some relief, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. Gas prices in the state have dropped 3.4 cents from a week ago and 3.5 cents in Bucks and Montgomery Counties. With “spot” gasoline prices (gasoline sold for immediate payment and delivery) also dropping dramatically across the country, it is likely that retail prices will continue to fall in the coming days, the report states. These recent declines and the fact that the national retail average has fallen below the year-ago price supports AAA’s prediction that gas prices will peak this spring at a lower level than recent years.
