The popular food truck that parked at Carousel Village will now operate a permanent location in Ottsville.
MOO, the food truck based out of Carousel Village, has mooved on. The truck, operated by Evan Asoudegan, was a popular area spot for burgers, fries and salads made from local ingredients. Due to its success, owner Asoudegan has decided to open a permanent location in Upper Bucks County. The new MOO is located 4010 Durham Road/Route 412 in Ottsville. It opened last week. Patch interviewed Asoudegan in December 2011, just as he began serving out of the food truck. “Ninety percent of everything is local and organic,” Asoudegan said at the time. The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance will host a Summer Farm Evening potluck dinner at the Garden of Reflection Monday, July 9. The event is open to the public. The evening’s potluck meal will run from 6 to 7 p.m. at the park's pavilion. After dinner, visitors are invited to enjoy all that the park has to offer on its 64 acres. A key feature of the park is the Garden of Reflection, the Bucks County 9/11 memorial, a living testimony of hope and courage for families, communities and country. Did you know that thicker-skinned winter squash last longer than their thin-skinned cousins? Do you know the difference between a speckled hen, pac man and baby boo? You would if you were part of the standing-room only crowd recently at Use Your Gourd: a Winter Squash Tasting. The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance hosted the program November 3 at the Doylestown Mennonite Church. Fourth-generation farmer Brenda Slack showed off more than a dozen of the 27 varieties of winter squash she grows at Milk House Farm, her family’s former dairy farm in Upper Makefield Township. The Bucks County Foodshed Alliance presents the final event in its immensely popular summer series of farm evenings on Wednesday, September 7, with Snipes Farm & Education Center, a CSA and “outdoor classroom” operating on the historic family-owned and operated farm in Morrisville, Bucks County. The summer farm evenings feature a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m. followed by the 7:30 p.m. farmer-guided tour of one of the area’s premier small farms. Gates open at 6:00. Had our first Moo burger getting our Christmas tree this year. Me and my husband took our first bites and were instantly wowed! Definitely the best burgers we EVER had! ANd best fries...no joke!
