Holiday Parade Spreads Cheer in Newtown

The annual Newtown Holiday Parade was held Sunday afternoon.

Thousands lined the streets in Newtown for the annual Holiday Parade, which was held Sunday. The parade, put on by the Newtown Buisiness Association, featured local marching bands, dancers, Mummers, classic cars, Santa and more.

Annual Holiday Parade Set for Dec. 2

The 8th annual parade is sponsored by the Newtown Business Association.

The 8th annual Newtown Holiday Parade will be held Sunday, Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. The parade is sponsored by the Newtown Business Association and will begin on South State Street at the Stocking Works building. "This huge event is a family tradition and continues to provide a magical experience for the whole community," reads a NBA flyer for the event. The parade will be held rain or shine. The parade will feature local high school marching bands, Mummers bands, floats, antique cars, fire trucks, Santa and more. From Stocking Works, the parade travels north to Washington Avenue and makes a left. It then continues east to Sycamore Street and north on Sycamore Street. It ends at Durham Road.
