'Slumped Over' Driver Facing DUI Charges, Police Say

The incident occurred at 3 a.m. Friday at the 7-Eleven parking lot.

Newtown Township Police Department reported the following recent incidents: Friday, Feb. 15 Shortly after 3 a.m., police were dispatched to the 7-Eleven on Sycamore Street for a report of a vehicle in the parking lot with the male driver slumped over in it.  Responding officers made contact with the subject, who was identified as a 24-year-old Trenton man. Police immediately could smell an odor of an alcoholic substance coming from inside of the vehicle and administered field sobriety tests and a portable breath test. As a result of the tests, the man was arrested for suspicion of DUI and taken to Saint Mary Medical Center to have blood drawn for testing, however he refused to submit to the test. Police: Party Guest Gets Unruly, Aster Way Home Burglarized

And a 29-year-old Levittown man was arrested on suspected DUI.

Newtown Township Police reported the following recent incidents. (For full details, including the names released by police, click on the PDF included with this article.) Friday, January 11 At approximately 8:30 a.m., police received a report from the owner of a backhoe who said the window of his backhoe had been shattered over the weekend. The victim reported that the equipment had been left at a construction site at Durham Road and Second Street Pike in Wrightstown. The cost to repair the window was estimated at $2,500.  Shortly after 8 p.m., police were dispatched to a home on Aster Way for a report of a burglary that occurred between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. The investigation has been turned over to the Detective Bureau.  Saturday, January 12…

Police: Multiple Residents Report Credit Card Fraud

The latest activity as reported by the Newtown Township Police Department.

Newtown Township Police reported the following recent indicents: Tuesday, Jan. 1  At approximately 2:20 p.m. a resident of High Street reported that his credit card had been used to make an unauthorized purchase in an amount just under $90. The card was cancelled and the bank will refund the amount to his account.  A resident of Ascot Court came into police headquarters around 4 p.m. and reported that she had received a bill in excess of $1,500 from Pay Pal.  The victim told the officer that she did not authorized anyone to make purchases using her information.     A resident of Thompson Mill Road reported that he discovered unauthorized cash advances from his account. Police: Man Arrested for Suspected Early-Morning DUI on New Year's Day

While on patrol in Wrightstown Township shortly before 4 a.m. on Jan. 1, an officer arrested a Quakertown man on suspicion of DUI.

The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following recent indicents. Click on the PDF file attached to this article for complete details. The new year didn't get off to a great start for one Quakertown man, who was arrested for suspected DUI early New Year's Day. While on patrol on Durham Road in Wrightstown Township around 3:50 a.m. on Jan. 1, an officer observed a vehicle stopped on the side of the road with the driver door open and the lights on.  The officer made contact with the driver, a 53-year-old resident of Quakertown. After a brief investigation, the man was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He was taken to Saint Mary Medical Center to have blood drawn for testing; charges are pending the results of the blood work. Police: More than 4K in Materials Stolen from Wrightstown Construction Site

Police also said someone reported their car window was broken while parked at Bucks County Community College.

Monday, Dec. 11 Shortly after 4 p.m., police responded to Bucks County Community College for a report that a window of a parked vehicle had been broken. The responding officer observed a large hole in the right side rear window, but didn’t locate anything that may have cause the damage.   Wednesday, Dec. 12 Patrols conducted a truck detail on the Newtown Bypass from 7 a.m. until approximately 1:30 p.m. Police stopped 15 trucks. One violation was discovered and a citation was issued to the driver of the vehicle.  At approximately 10:10 a.m., a resident of Sequoia Drive called police to report that a vehicle with expired tags had been parked along the street for an extended period of time. Police: Shoplifters Caught at McCaffrey's, Drunk Man Charged at 7-Eleven

And a truck detail on the Bypass resulted in 12 stops and one citation.

The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following recent activity. Friday, Dec. 7 Police conducted a truck detail on the Newtown Bypass from 7 a.m. until approximately 1:30 p.m. During the detail, 12 trucks were stopped and officers discovered one violation. A citation was issued to the driver.     Shortly before 12 p.m., a resident of Stoopville Road came to police headquarters to report that he was the victim of fraudulent activity on his bank account. The victim had already notified his bank and they will be the investigating agency. Police: Laptop Stolen from Car, Missing Package Recovered

The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following recent activity: Tuesday, December 4 While on patrol at approximately 2:30 a.m., an officer observed several tools scattered throughout the roadway along Durham Road.  The office retrieved all of the tools and placed them in a box in the Highway Garage where they are stored in case the owner is identified. Around 2:45 a.m., an officer observed an occupied suspicious vehicle parked in a parking lot on Penns Trail. The officer made contact with the two adults in the car and they explained that they were lost so they pulled into the parking lot to GPS their location. Resident Reports $67K in Fraudulent Credit Card Charges

Township police also made two DUI arrests and copper worth $1,000 was stolen from a construction site.

A Newtown Township man has been the victim of $67,000 in fraudulent charges on his credit card, according to Newtown Township Police. Police said they were dispatched to a home on Bayshore Drive on Sunday around 11:10 a.m. after the resident called to report he was the victim of credit card fraud.  The victim told the officer that his credit card company notified him of suspicious activity on his account in an amount of approximately $67,000.  The account has been canceled and the investigation has been turned over to detectives.     Township police also reported the following recent activity: Monday, Nov. 19 At approximately 9:10 a.m. a Toll Brothers employee reported that someone stole copper pipes from two homes under construction …

Township Police Report DUI, Smashed Mailbox

Newtown Township Police Department reported the following recent activity: Thursday, Nov. 15 At approximately 10 p.m., a resident of Lower Dolington Road reported that she had left her residence at 7 p.m. and when she arrived home, her mailbox had been smashed and her garbage can was now alongside the road with garbage everywhere. The area was checked but no additional damage was found.  Friday, Nov. 16 At approximately 8:30 p.m., police received an anonymous complaint that a group of juveniles were loitering on Aster Way.  The responding officer met with three males, all adults who lived in the area, who were standing at the street talking. Township Police Report Stolen Political Signs, Picketers at the High School

And an iPad 2 was stolen from a car at Bucks County Community College.

Sunday, Oct. 21 At approximately 4 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Ice Cream Ally for the report of a large group of juveniles loitering in the parking lot. Prior to police arrival, the group had dispersed and there was no sign of any vandalism or damage.
