Recycle Your Christmas Tree and Help Rebuild the Jersey Shore

Trees can be dropped off at Shady Brook Farm.

Don't toss that Christmas tree to the curb. Instead, consider recycling it to help rebuild the Jersey Shore from the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Island Beach State Park is instituting a pilot program to install discarded Christmas trees to help rebuild the dunes. The trees will be placed on their side, end to end, and secured in place in a manner similar to dune fencing.  Shady Brook Farm is a drop off point for the effort. Simply bring your old Christmas tree to Shady Brook Farm, 931 Stony Hill Road in Yardley, during regular business hours. (Ask for Chris or Tom if you have any questions.) Shady Brook Farm Light Show Opens Tonight

The annual light extravaganza opens at twilight tonight. It runs until Jan. 6.

It's official. The holidays are here and Shady Brook Farm is ready for the festivities. The area's most extravagant light show opens tonight at twilight. Shady Brook Farm's 18th annual light show features acres of holiday light displays that you can see from your car or on a carriage ride. The holiday light show will be open from dusk until 10 p.m. through Jan. 6. The cost to drive through is $20 per car Monday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, it's $25. Horse-drawn wagon rides are offered Thursday through Sunday and are $12 per person.
