Will Magnets Slow Newtown Borough Speeders?
New car magnets encourage motorist to slow down as they drive through the borough. Do you think they'll work?
In September, Newtown Borough households should expect to recieve a car magnet that carries an important message: Slow down. At a recent borough council meeting, the purchase of 1,000 magnets at a cost that is not to exceed $800 was approved, BucksLocalNews.com reported. “Newtown Borough Pace Car for Safety,” the magnets will read. The yellow magnets will also note the borough's 25 mph speed limit, the website reported. The issue of vehicles speeding through the borough streets has been raised before the council several times in the past. Police have increased traffic details in an effort to slow vehicles down.
