Philadelphia Eagles Choose Chip Kelly as Coach
Chip Kelly, a top candidate, will replace Andy Reid as new coach of Philadelphia Eagles, team announced Wednesday.
The search is over. Chip Kelly has been named the new coach of the Philadelphia Eagles. ESPN and the Philadelphia Inquirer first reported the hiring of Kelly, which the team then confirmed on its website around 12:30 p.m. A press conference has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m., the team said. The University of Oregon coach was considered among the team's top choices by owner Jeff Lurie but announced after his interview with the Birds that he was staying put. Well, those plans have changed. It may be due to the fact that the University of Oregon was facing NCAA sanctions.
