There will be a combination of snow, sleet and freezing rain during the Monday morning commute.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for the Bucks County region from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday. due to a chance of snow, sleet and freezing rain. Snow is expected to accumulate up to one inch. Light snow is expected to begin during the morning commute and will change over to sleet and freeing rain by the late morning. Rain is expected in the afternoon, the National Weather Service predicts. The National Weather Service warns that the combination of icy precipitation will lead to hazardous travel conditions. "Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving," the weather advisory states. A wind advisory is in effect for winter weather that could cause more power outages. Bucks and Montgomery are already under a winter weather advisory with expected snow accumulation of 2 to 5 inches. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. The advisory is in effect until Thursday 6 a.m. Tonight, snow and sleet is expected before 10 p.m., then rain and sleet. It will be breezy, with a north wind 18 to 22 mph. The NWS also issued a wind advisory., meaning there is a potential of gusts up to 50 mph. that could cause powe outages. November has barely begun and Bucks and Montgomery are already under a winter weather advisory. The advisory, which was issued Tuesday afternoon by the National Weather Service covers the Greater Philadelphia area. On Wednesday, there's a chance of rain and snow, mainly after 1 p.m. On Thursday, it will be blustery, with a north wind 17 to 22 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph and a possible accumulation of 1-to-2 inches of snow. A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Be prepared for slippery roads while driving.
