POLL: Military Lifts Women in Combat Ban

Do you agree with the Department of Defense's decision to allow women to fight on the front lines?

Department of Defense Secretary Leon Panetta is expected to announce today the lifting of a 19-year ban that prevented women from serving on the frontlines of ground combat, CNN reports. The overturning of the 1994 ban would allow women to serve in special operations services such as the Navy SEALS or the Army's Delta Force and open more than 230,000 jobs to women in the military, the Associated Press reported on Wednesday. The move, made at the recommendation of the Joints Chief of Staff, will phase in the jobs over the next few years, allowing units to assess the qualifications for women to join their ranks and request exemptions from the order. I am a combat veteran, for those in favor of this have you known or talked to someone who has seen combat? Have you ever seen any wounded soldiers or a soldier on fire, and you had to put him out? Can women pick up a wounded comrade and throw him over their shoulder and carry him to a medivac?
