A mystery Facebook poster is using the Internet to boost the confidence of many Council Rock North students. A Facebook page, CR North Compliments, was created Jan. 7 and has 654 friends as of Friday afternoon. Since the page was created Monday, the mystery poster has made dozens of compliments about various students for a range of reasons. Compliments can be short or long. Here are a few examples (last names removed to protect the students' privacy): So will we ever find out who is posting these online compliments? A status posted Thursday on the page reads: "If this status gets 350 or more likes before June I will reveal my identity on the day of graduation. I don't want you to know who I am if you don't want to know who I am."

The fundraising event will be held at Council Rock North on Nov. 24
Council Rock North boys and girls basketball teams are hosting a "Hoops Mania" night to help fight cancer. The event, to be held Nov. 24 at 5 p.m., will benefit Coaches Vs. Cancer, a collaboration between the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches. It is free and open to the public. Coaches Vs. Cancer "empowers basketball coaches, their teams and local communities to make a difference in the fight against cancer," according to the American Cancer Society website. The 554 Council Rock High School North graduates received diplomas during a Monday afternoon ceremony.
One student speaker asked his peers to think of themselves as a glass of milk. Another recalled the swimming class that was a requirement for freshman, comparing it to the challenges that lie ahead. But whatever analogy was used, most would agree the 554 Council Rock High School North graduates that received diplomas during a Monday afternoon ceremony, “left a lasting mark on this school,” class president Alfred P. Venus III said. The stands at the school’s Walt Snyder Stadium were packed as family and friends of the class of 2012 cheered their accomplishments. About 94 percent of the class of 2012 will continue their education at a college or university, district officials said.
Council Rock High School North will celebrate graduation today, as 554 students are expected to receive their diplomas at a 4 p.m. ceremony. The graduation ceremony will be held outdoors at the school's Walt Snyder Stadium. According to the Council Rock School District, the class of 2012 includes 12 distinguished scholars (the top 2 percent of the class). Those students are: Ilana Attadgie, Joseph Hacker, Justin Paloni, Christopher Perrotti, Andrew Sabol, Mackenzie L. Smith, Kush Sodha, Alyssa Steeger, Benjamin Wang, Kimberly Ward, Jeremy Wortzel, Yixi Yang and Victoria Zhao. The game raises money for the Lauren Kelsey Talbot Memorial Foundation, created in honor of a Council Rock North student who passed away in 2005.
Council Rock High School North seniors and juniors will participate in the Seventh Annual Powder Puff game on May 30 to raise money for the Lauren Kelsey Talbot Memorial Foundation. Felicia Pappas and Kelsey Dumont, 2007 graduates, started the event in honor of their friend Lauren, who was a senior at North when she passed away in 2005 after a car accident. The game will be held at 3 p.m. at Council Rock North’s stadium. The powder puff teams are comprised of senior females and junior females, who compete for the Powder Puff title. Fifteen Bucks County high-schoolers were honored for their volunteerism efforts at the YWCA’s Teen Volunteer of the Year Awards banquet at Ann’s Choice in Warminster Thursday evening. Quakertown Community High School student and National Honor Society member Anya Kelly was named the county’s top teen volunteer during the ceremony. She has worked extensively with China Care, a group which helps orphans deemed by their people as be unadoptable. Over the past three years, Anya has helped raise over $7,000 for the group and even traveled to Asia to volunteer. Aside from her work with China Care, Anya has helped tutor peers with school work and volunteered as a counselor at St. Luke's Vacation Bible School. State Representative Bernie O’Neill…

Council Rock North The Council Rock North versus South football game will be played at the Walt Snyder Stadium tonight at 7 p.m. It's sure to be an exciting night of high school football! Also, North's theatre club Sock 'n' Buskin will put on their first show of the year, Anton Chekov's "Three Sisters." The show opens Thursday, Nov. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and continues through Saturday, Nov. 19. Tickets will be available at the door.
