Area Police Seeking Man Who Robbed Yardley Bank

At approximately 9:17 a.m. this morning, a man robbed the Wells Fargo Bank on Stony Hill Road. He is considered armed and dangerous, police said.

A Wells Fargo Bank in Yardley was robbed this morning. The Lower Makefield Township Police Department and the FBI are seeking the public's assistance to identify and locate the man responsible for the armed robbery. The crime occcured shortly after 9 a.m at the Wells Fargo Bank at 706 Stony Hill Rd, Yardley, police said. According to police, the subject entered the bank at 9:17 a.m. and threatened the teller with a gun.  After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled the area of the bank in an unknown direction.  The subject is described as a white male, 6'2" tall, 240 pounds, wearing a gray sweat suitwith the hood covering his head, a black ski mask (hole cut-outs in the eyes and mouth) and light green latex gloves, …

Looks like it may be the same guy (same build, height, weight) that robbed the First Federal in Wrightstown. Would be interesting to know if this guy taped the latex gloves around his wrists as well, just like the Wrightstown guy did. Either way since he keeps getting away with it he'll probably wait a bit, make up a new outfit, then go after another local bank that's away from busier towns where…   more ›

Lower Makefield Police Chase Ends in Crash on Bridge

Lower Makefiled police are charging the driver of a vehicle that attempted to flee and crashed in the process.

  The following arrest information was provided by the Pennsylvania State Police Trevose station. It does not imply conviction. On Sept. 14 at 2:13 a.m., state police responded to a one-vehicle crash on the Calhoun Street Bridge from Morrisville to Trenton. Police said a vehicle driven by Stephen Jones, 28, of Trenton, was fleeing from Lower Makefield police when it attempted to cross the bridge. The pursuit was terminated before the vehicle entered the bridge. Police said the vehicle lost control and struck the north side of the bridge rails, crossed both lanes of travel and struck the bridge rails on the south side. After the crash, Jones and two passengers fled on foot. All three were apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. No injuries …
