Steeple View Plans Get Nod from Planning Commission

Planning Commission chairman Mark Craig is expected to discuss the plans at Wednesday's Borough Council meeting.

The Newtown Borough Planning Commission on Monday approved plans for Steeple View, a mixed-use project at South State and Penn streets. The project features a three-story, mixed-use building that will feature the state wine and spirits store on the ground level and residential units above. Planning Commission chairman Mark Craig is expected to discuss the plans at Wednesday's Borough Council meeting. Preliminary Plans for State Street Project Approved

The plans include a three-story building at South State and Penn streets that would feature a wine and spirits store on the ground level with residential units above.

The Newtown Borough Planning Commission on Monday gave preliminary approval to plans for a mixed-use building on South State Street that will be home to a renovated state wine and spirits store. Developer Allan Smith, who owns the current state store property on Centre Avenue, is seeking to relocate the store to a building on South State Street. The proposal includes a three-story building that would be constructed adjacent to the Sedia house at South State and Penn streets. The proposal would feature the state store on the ground level and residential units above. The Newtown Borough Planning Commission will review plans for a new state wine and spirits store at its meeting tonight.

Plans for a renovated state wine and spirits store will be reviewed tonight by the Newtown Borough Planning Commission. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. at Borough Hall. Developer Allan Smith, who owns the current state store property on Centre Avenue, is seeking to relocate the store to a building on South State Street. The proposal features a three-story building that would be constructed adjacent to the Sedia house at South State and Penn streets. The proposal would feature the state store on the ground level and residential units above.
