About Tom

Tom Sofield has been covering crime, fire, courts, local government and much more in Bucks and Montgomery counties for Patch.com since joining the team in May of 2011.

Prior to joining Patch as a regional contributor, Tom covered local happenings as part of an online news website. During that time, many of his articles and photographs were printed in several area newspapers operated by Journal Register Company.

In April 2012, Tom was honored at the Pennsylvania Newspaper Association Foundation's Keystone Press Awards for his coverage of President Obama’s visit to Bucks County in 2011.

When he's not covering news in the area, Tom enjoys checking out the newest restaurants and bars, exploring forgotten places of industry in the area, going to local parks and spending time with his friends and family. Tom currently resides in Upper Southampton.

If there’s one thing you should know about Tom, he is a local news junkie through and through.

I was waiting for a picture of the Horsham Meeting House. Thanks. There is "some" beauty in Horsham. Not much. It's a
suburban waist land for the most part.

Hey Tom. I was wondering if you could do a story on the toxic contamination at Johnsville naval base. Theres many people on Facebook who have personal stories of family and friends who may have been affected.
