Pennswood Village Hosts Gallery Opening for Perceptual Painter Carolyn Pyfrom
A wine and cheese reception for Artist Carolyn
Pyfrom, who will exhibit her latest oil paintings. Pyfrom says she embraces
the uncertainties and ambiguities of perception, observation and realism, and
that the very nature of reality is elusive and always personal. In her work,
which has a rough-edged textural quality, she plays with interior space, sometimes
involving mirrored reflections and geometric compositions. In addition to
receiving a B.A. from Troy University in Alabama with a double major in studio art
and mathematics, Pyfrom studied art at Obirin Univeristy, Tokyo, and at the
Florence Academy of Art in Italy, where she also served as a student drawing
instructor. Currently, she is an adjunct faculty member at the Pennsylvania
Academy of the Fine Arts.
