Newtown Auditions to be Held for Play

Actors and actresses will be auditioning for parts in "Almost, Maine."

The Newtown Arts Company is looking for actors and actresses to audition for their upcoming performances of John Cariani's "Almost, Maine."

Director John Rasiej is seeking character actors and actresses (Ages 25 to 55) with an emphasis on droll quirky comedy. The play has nineteen roles (10 men and 9 women), and has been performed with as many as nineteen different actors and as few as four portraying all the different roles. Determination of how many actors and actresses will be used in this production will be made after auditions.

Auditions will be held Saturday, July 28th from 11:30 am to 2:00 pm at the on State Street. No outside food is allowed in the theatre. Bring photos & resumes, as well as a calendar to note any scheduling conflicts you may have. Performances are October 18th to 24th at the Newtown Theatre. Proceeds from shows help fund scholarships to local students who are pursuing higher education in the arts. Since 1983, over $92,000 has been awarded. "Almost, Maine" is produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service Inc.
