Theft from Vehicle Reported at Newtown Swim Club
Newtown Township police reported several incidents last week.
Tuesday, July 24
At approximately 9 p.m., police were dispatched to Pine Lane in Wrightstown Township for a noise complaint. The responding officer located the residence where there was a party creating the noise. The officer spoke with the resident who agreed to end the party. No further complaints were received.

Wednesday, July 25
Shortly before 12 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a business on Windy Bush Road for a complaint that someone had parked a car in their lot with a for sale sign on the window. The officer identified the owner, who lives nearby, and contacted him to advise him the vehicle needs to be removed or the business would have it towed. The owner agreed to move the car before 6 p.m.

Friday, July 27
Shortly after midnight, an officer was monitoring traffic in the area of Worthington Mill and Durham Road and observed a motorist commit a traffic violation. The officer followed the motorist and observed additional violations the motorist was stopped by the officer on Durham road near Stoopville Road. The driver, a 23-year-old Northampton Township woman, was subsequently arrested and transported to Saint Mary Medical Center where she submitted to a blood draw to be tested for alcohol content. She was released from the hospital and charges for driving under the influence are pending the lab results.
At 3:10 p.m., police responded to the for a report of a theft from a vehicle parked in the parking lot. The responding officer observed that one of the windows in the car had been smashed out and the owner’s purse was taken. The purse contained cash and multiple credit cards. The victim cancelled all the cards and the situation remains under investigation.
Saturday, July 28
Just after 12 p.m., a 22 year-old Newtown Township man was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. The arrest took place after the subject was involved in a two-vehicle accident in the area of Pheasant Run and Terry Drive. The 22 year-old was taken to Saint Mary Medical Center where he submitted to a blood draw. The blood will be submitted to the lab and once the results have been received the proper charges will be filed. The driver was release to a parent at the hospital.
Sunday, July 29
At 1 p.m., a resident of Pennswood Drive came to police headquarters to report that he received documentation informing him that he had been approved for a loan that he did not apply for. The victim contacted the financial organization to advise them of the mistake. He did not suffer any monetary loss.
