Newtown Golfer Headed for Amateur Championship

“My putter kept me in it.”

That is what 19-year-old Newtown golfer Brandon Dalinka told BucksLocalNews.com after he qualified for the U.S. Amateur Championship last week.

Dalinka, who will be attending University of North Carolina as a sophmore in the fall, captured the win at the American Junior Golf Association Rhode Island Classic in 2007, according to WorldGolf.com.

The local golfer will head to Colorado in mid-August to compete in the U.S. Amateur Championship events.
